Celebrity power pairings don’t get much bigger than the world’s most famous pop artist and one of the NFL’s star names. It’s little wonder that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have changed the game.
Swift’s whirlwind romance with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end captured the attention of NFL camera operators and sent an army of Swifties to stadiums all over the United States. Swift soon set off for a colossal tour of her own and the next stop in the Traylor tale could be a stage show of a different kind.
Swift and Kelce have been presented with a proposal for a Broadway show about their relationship and the numbers involved, as reported by The Sun, are eye-watering. An ambitious budget of $7.5 million works out at $100,000 per minute for the 75-minute play, which suggests it’ll be larger than life just like its two celebrity subjects. Plans are already afoot to take the production around the world if it succeeds in New York City.

Knowing the Swifties’ commitment to showing up in numbers, it’s hard to see how a Traylor play could fail – at the box office, at least.

According to The Sun, the proposed production has yet to be approved by the couple. If it gets the go-ahead, it’ll be another step into the world of showbiz for Kelce, who’s known to have an interest in a post-NFL acting career of his own. The three-time Superbowl winner already has Hollywood offers to mull over, including possible roles opposite his brother. Jason Kelce was the focus of the critically acclaimed 2023 documentary Kelce, which tracked the final season of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles and his decision to retire from the sport.
