Amazing! Russell Wilson Shows Off His Sculpted Body and Six-Pack While Training at a Boxing Gym: Is He Ready to Reinvent His Career in Pittsburgh?

Russell Wilson showed off his six-pack abs and impressive physique while sharing snaps from a boxing session on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old took to Instagram after training with legendary boxing coach Freddie Roach – who worked with Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto – at the iconic Wild Card gym in Los Angeles.

Wilson posted a video of himself hitting mitts with Marvin Somodio, which showed his defined biceps and triceps ahead of the NFL season. He also posed with 15-1 Dominican boxer Elvis Rodriguez.

‘Back in the Ring,’ Wilson wrote in his caption. ‘Started in 2018 through 2020. Had some of my best years.

‘Then COVID hit in 2020 and couldn’t go back in. Good to see my guys again.’

The nine-time Pro Bowler signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in March after a turbulent run with the Denver Broncos.

Wilson arrived in Pittsburgh after his four-year deal at Mile High City got cut short halfway through behind two lackluster seasons. After being informed that he would get cut in free agency, the Broncos gave Wilson the green light to talk to other teams in advance.

Besides Wilson, Pittsburgh also acquired rising star Justin Fields from Chicago.

With a veteran and an up-and-coming quarterback on his roster, Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin previously stated that the 2014 Super Bowl winner is in pole position to start. On the other hand, Fields will get minutes but will primarily serve as an understudy to his senior.

‘Russell has those resources, man, that structure, and so that’s why I say he has pole position, man,’ Tomlin said in March. ‘It just creates a synergy that I think is good for this time of year.’

‘When it’s time to compete, we get in training camp-like settings and go to preseason stadiums and so forth, obviously Justin will be given an opportunity that shows his capabilities.’

While Tomlin pre-assigned mentor and protégé hats to his quarterbacks, Fields warned his teammate about competing for the starting nod.

‘I’m definitely competing,’ Fields said during OTAs in May. ‘Russ knows that. We’re competing against each other every day. I definitely don’t have the mindset of me just sitting all year.’

‘I’m coming in every day giving it all I’ve got — pushing him to be his best, and he’s pushing me to be my best each and every day.’

Wilson and Fields will fan the flame for a Steelers team that finished last season with a 10-7 record and third place in the AFC North.
